A NIGHT OF ROCK MUSIC!

For the fourth time since 2017, the Eastern Visayas State University – Tanauan Campus (EVSU—TC) again hosted on August 7 the much-awaited Hagunob Battle of the Bands at the Tanauan Amphitheater in connection with the 113th fiesta celebration of the town’s Patron Saint, Our Lady of Assumption.

Nine different bands composed of The Clay Go, Epiphany, Mimi and the Cockroaches, Emanon, Chubby Boys, Dirt Feel, Banda Sinirangan, Jairokista, and Kairo competed for the coveted title. Each band performed three songs: Original Pilipino Music (OPM), foreign music, and their own composition.

The Epiphany band was acclaimed the Hagunob 2022 champion, Banda Sinirangan was declared second place, and The Clay Go got third place.

The EVSU-TC faculty and staff led by Campus Director Dr. Annabelle Pilapil, and the town officials headed by Mayor Hon. Gina E. Merilo graced the said event.

In 2017, the Hagunob Battle of the Bands was organized under the leadership of the former Campus Director of EVSU-TC Dr. Benedicto Militante, who is currently the Vice President of the Research, Planning and Extension of EVSU.
