Eastern Visayas State University Tanauan Campus has been officially accredited once again in offering courses on Cisco Certified Network Academy version 7 (CCNA7) to students for free. MIS Coordinator, Jessie Richie Naval de los Santos, MSIT and CISCO Coordinator, Greg S. Campos, MSIT actively participated in the subsidized training for CCNA7: Enterprise Networking, Security, and Automation sponsored by the CNAP Core Council of the Philippines (C3P), Inc last May 18 – June 5, 2020. The assistance provided by EVSU Burauen Campus, allows Professor de los Santos to attend the 3 weeks duration of the course through an online learning platform.
CCNA7: ENSA ~ describes the architectures and considerations related to designing, securing, operating, and troubleshooting enterprise networks. It covers wide area network (WAN) technologies and quality of service (QoS) mechanisms used for secure remote access. It also introduces software-defined networking, virtualization, and automation concepts that support the digitalization of networks.
The following competencies were satisfactorily completed and performed by Professor de los Santos and Professor Campos leading to instructor level accreditation.
- Configure single-area OSPFv2 in both point-to-point and multiaccess networks.
- Explain how to mitigate threats and enhance network security using access control lists and security best
practices. - Implement standard IPv4 ACLs to filter traffic and secure administrative access.
- Configure NAT services on the edge router to provide IPv4 address scalability.
- Explain techniques to provide address scalability and secure remote access for WANs.
- Explain how to optimize, monitor, and troubleshoot scalable network architectures.
- Explain how networking devices implement QoS.
- Implement protocols to manage the network.
- Explain how technologies such as virtualization, software-defined networking, and automation effect
evolving networks.
Trained by Gerard Nathaniel Ngo, Rasel de la Cruz, and Engr. Warren Badong, the two were officially recognized as CISCO Certified Academy Instructor (CCNA7): ENSA last June 11, 2020, after successfully completing the appropriate training and certification requirements.
